Dr. Amir was born and raised in Baytown, Texas and attended Ross S. Sterling High School. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biology from the University of Houston. Following this he pursued a Master’s in Public Health at the UT School of Public Health – and this is where he met the love of his life Sara. His final education stop was at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio where he was awarded the degree Doctor of Dental Surgery. He is currently a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and has completed continuing education in orthodontics, wisdom teeth, and implant surgeries.
Why did you become a dentist?
From an early age, Dr. Amir has always had compassion for others and has enjoyed working with his hands. After spending several years shadowing his mentor, Dr. James Moore, he saw how unique and personal a dentist’s relationship can be with their patients. Connecting with patients is a privilege for him and what he looks forward to the most in his work, because he understands many people do have a genuine fear of the dentist. He strives to make all his patients comfortable and ensure they have the best experience possible. He also genuinely loves the artistry that goes into dentistry and being able to alleviate someone’s tooth pain is deeply rewarding.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Dr. Amir enjoys spending time with his lovely wife Sara and their two-year-old son Atreus. They enjoy traveling, cooking, and growing together as a family. Even more exciting, they are expecting a second child in 2023!
